Welcome to my blog

If you enjoy finding a lot of different outlets for your creativity, then we may just be kindred spirits.
This blog is an outlet for my interest in miniatures, crochet, plastic canvas, and many other various arts and crafts.

I also love walking, taking digital photos, and most recently, have rediscovered an old love...bike riding! I purchased an amazing new bike, a comfy Townie by Electra this summer, and have been having a grand time exploring the area as though for the first time. It's like being a kid again!

If you enjoy any of these things too, pour a cup of coffee and tea, sit down, and join me.

Take care!

Fall Drive with Dogs

Hello friends.  I've been sick for over 2 months, with asthma and some sort of infection, but I'm starting to feel better and was able to take my dogs for a drive the other day to see the beautiful fall leaves.

Here's Mac, looking out the window.  Gros Cap is pretty but very hilly and my asthma was still too bad to tackle much walking, let alone hills, so we went for another drive to Mark's Bay, a normally secluded little conservation area.

The dogs were very happy to go for another car ride.  Mac is the big black standard poodle, and Ben is the little white toy poodle :-).

Mark's Bay

Mark's Bay was lovely and calm, with the clouds reflecting in the water.  This is my favorite shot (above).
Here's Benji looking out over Mark's Bay.  Mac's hips were giving him trouble so he wanted to go back in the truck after he went pee.

Little plane over Mark's Bay
In this last photo, you can see (if you squint) a tiny little plane in the sky above the lake. It was one of those old fashioned planes; very cool to see.

I was very happy that I was able to finally get out of the house to enjoy nature, as it snowed later in the day. It didn't last, but it caused many of the pretty leaves to fall.

Walk at Mark's Bay

Took the dogs  to Mark's Bay yesterday.  It was a gorgeous day.  I'd go again today but Mac got too much exercise and fell down the stairs last night.  He's OK but it scared me.  He needs to take it easy today so we'll stay in.

A Walk on the Beach

I took the dogs for a walk on the beach today, and they had such fun!  In the above photo, Mac is jumping for joy, lol.
I don't know if you can see the fence posts in the background, but there are about 50 of them, and Benji peed on each and every one.  It took forever to walk that stretch, lol.
The ice just melted a few weeks ago and it's so nice to see open water!  Yay!
Benji was a real trouper, even though he doesn't seem to like walking on the sand, lol.
Mac pulled me up and down the beach and ran circles around me.
The beach is lovely at this time of year; we had the entire place to ourselves!

It was pretty windy out, as you can see from the state of poor Ben's hair.
The ice just melted a few weeks ago but Mac still couldn't resist playing in the water.
He really loves the beach.  I do too.

Benji prefers the trails over the beach.  He's very picky, lol.
Mac ran, and drank water, ran, and drank water.

We walked all up and down the beach.  It was much easier walking on the packed, but wet, sand than the fluffy dry stuff.

When we got back to the truck, I discovered the driver door wouldn't close...at all.  I had no phone and nobody was out there so I had to use Benji's leash to tie the door closed so I could drive home.  My Dad fixed it, thank God.
Hope everyone else had a nice day!
